Tseung Kwan O PopWalk | PopWalk Chinese New Year Presentation: Wander in the Blooming Wonderland International artist Martcellia Liunic creates a Chinese New Year fairy tale garden Coinciding with the full opening of Tseung K
Description
The eye-catching landmark of Tseung Kwan O — Tseung Kwan O South Park, fully opened on 15 January. Covering an area of 38,800 square metres, Tseung Kwan O South Park features 'sea, land and air' themed recreational facilities including ziplines, climbing towers and sand pits. It has immediately attracted a large number of citizens to visit and play, adding vitality and appeal to Tseung Kwan O Waterfront! SHK PPT's PopWalk Tin Chun Court is located on both sides of the Central Park, with seamless connection to the park, making it a landmark mall in the district. With the upcoming Chinese New Year, PopWalk Tin Chun Court is proudly presenting 'PopWalk Tin Chun Court Chinese New Year Presentation: Wander in the Blooming Wonderland'. International artist Martcellia Liunic is inspired by the fun of picking flowers and the warmth of the Chinese New Year to design a range of check-in installations and interactive games. Coupled with the outdoor giant glowing red heart check-in installation and the 'Full of Love Carnival' parent-child fun carnival connected to the park, as well as a series of play experiences and reward schemes, it brings a joyous festive atmosphere and green living aesthetics to parents and children, making Tseung Kwan O Waterfront the most popular playground for this Chinese New Year!
Artist creates a Chinese New Year wonderland Seamless connection to Tseung Kwan O South Park Artistic wind-powered plants and animals bloom with beautiful blessings
The highly anticipated Tseung Kwan O South Park officially opened to the public on 15 January. The brand-new luxurious children's playground and central lawn have become a leisure spot for residents and children in the district. Adjoining Tseung Kwan O South Park, PopWalk Tin Chun Court enjoys a unique geographical advantage. Ocean PopWalk, which is adjacent to the sea and the park, is directly connected to the newly opened viewing platform of the park, offering a view of the comfortable large lawn and the cross-bay bridge scenery of the park, embracing a green lifestyle in a new way.
Welcoming the Chinese New Year, PopWalk specially invited popular artist Martcellia Liunic to create the 'Wander in the Blooming Wonderland' themed playground in the atrium of Ocean PopWalk, the outdoor rainbow runway and the atrium of PopWalk Phase 2, drawing inspiration from the fun of picking flowers and incorporating Chinese New Year elements.
Martcellia Liunic, an artist from Indonesia, has a colourful and playful illustration style, exuding her passion for life. She likes to add big eyes to animals, plants and small objects, as if everything is full of vitality. This time, the 'Wander in the Blooming Wonderland' is like an extension of the children's playground in Tseung Kwan O South Park, providing an intelligent and fun space for children in the district to release their energy. The design style continues Liunic's playful personal style, using passionate and unrestrained brushstrokes to portray the natural ecological elements of the district with vibrant, personified characters. The flowers with big eyes are lively and cute, and the festive colours also match the Chinese New Year theme, turning into festive flowers, conveying blessings of prosperity and wealth with lush, blooming flowers. The cartoon version of the fortune cat waves to adults and children, implying attracting wealth, luck and noble people, which is interesting and delightful, and will surely be loved by children. Over 4-metre-tall flower pot check-in installation at PopWalk Phase 2 adds festive cheer
From Exit B of Tseung Kwan O MTR Station, you can reach the new entrance of Tong Yin Street PopWalk Phase 2 and the first check-in spot — the super large 'Heartwarming Flower Pot' in the atrium of Phase 2! The pot pours an arched stream of light onto a group of flower characters, along with a string of cute hearts and gold coins, expressing wishes for good luck and smoothness in everything! With designated consumption, you can enter the pot and play the interesting 'Spring Flower Catching' game. Within a limited time, capture as many designated coloured balls dancing in the wind as possible to win a designated prize! On the other side is the giant heart-shaped 'Fortune Chinese New Year Twist and Turn' game. With designated consumption, you can join the twist and turn game and test your luck! You can also win rich parent-child gifts at any time, starting the new year with good luck and welcoming the Year of the Horse.
Passing through the outdoor corridor to PopWalk Phase 3, and a 5-minute walk through the park will take you to another must-play interactive installation — the 'Blooming Wonderland Playground' in the atrium of Ocean PopWalk. As a variation of the rainbow tossing game, it is different from the usual rainbow winning areas. Players need to toss coins into the colourful flower rings designed by Liunic to win a prize. The installation incorporates vibrant blooming flowers into the game, and the happy and playful flower design also symbolises a new beginning and hope, representing prosperity, good luck and happiness, bringing beautiful blessings to everyone in the Year of the Horse.
Outdoor 'Red' luck 3-metre-tall heart
Stepping out from the atrium of Ocean PopWalk, you will see the over 3-metre-tall inflatable heart-shaped check-in installation specially designed by Liunic in her signature style. The heart's big eyes are very cute, and its friendly smile makes people want to come over and take photos. The installation also thoughtfully reserves a dedicated photo spot for pets, so that furry friends can also take photos in the best position.
'Full of Love Carnival' parent-child carnival and market A variety of classic stall games to win cute plush toys
During the Chinese New Year, Ocean PopWalk will also hold the 'Full of Love Carnival' parent-child carnival and markets with different themes, featuring 4 classic games and multiple market stalls, providing a more diverse entertainment experience. After playing in the park, you can take a break in one of the 27 restaurants offering cuisines from around the world in the mall. With designated consumption, you can participate in a variety of classic carnival games, including 'Crazy Can Sweep' to help you sweep away the old and welcome the new; 'Basketball Fever' to accompany you in the new year and be excellent in everything; 'Crazy Shooting' to imply that work and studies will go smoothly and hit the target every time; and 'Bowling Craze' to knock down all the bottles and symbolise rolling in wealth! In addition to the 4 major games, there is also a 'Racing Paradise' experience specially designed for little racers, allowing children to take the lead in the Year of the Horse!
PopWalk takes care of the needs of children, and as a pet-friendly mall, it not only allows furry friends to walk and stroll, but also arranges multiple dedicated photo spots for pets, and will hold the 'Pet Chinese New Year Festival' from 7 to 16 February for two consecutive weeks, with over 40 market stalls offering a variety of goods for you to choose from for the new year. There will also be adoption activities to find warm homes for furry friends! A wonderful programme, allowing you and your beloved pets to enjoy sweet moments together!
